Safety, Compliance, and Risk Management
In the world of corporate MICE, and especially in a remote and adventurous destination like Labuan Bajo, the safety and security of our clients are the absolute, non-negotiable foundation of our business. Golomori MICE operates with a culture of proactive risk management and unwavering adherence to both Indonesian law and international best practices. Our clients trust us because we have built a verifiable framework of compliance, certification, and emergency preparedness. This commitment is a core part of our partner vetting process and is managed by our experienced operations team.
Corporate & Legal Compliance
We operate with full legal transparency and are in good standing with all relevant Indonesian government bodies.
- Company Registration: Golomori MICE is a registered brand under PT. Juara Destinasi Indonesia, a fully incorporated Indonesian Perseroan Terbatas (PT) company.
- Tourism Business License (TDUP): We hold a valid Tanda Daftar Usaha Pariwisata (TDUP), the official business license for tourism operators issued by the Indonesian government, which certifies our legal right to operate as a tour and event management company.
- Taxpayer Identification (NPWP): We are a registered corporate taxpayer with a Nomor Pokok Wajib Pajak (NPWP), ensuring full compliance with all national and regional tax regulations.
- Mandatory Labor Compliance (BPJS): All our employees are registered under Indonesia’s mandatory social security programs: BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (for employment, accident, and pension benefits) and BPJS Kesehatan (for universal healthcare coverage).
Operational Safety Standards & Certifications
Our operational protocols are designed to mitigate risk and ensure the well-being of our guests at every stage of their journey.
Marine Operations
- Vessel Certification: Every vessel in our network, from speedboats to luxury Phinisi schooners, possesses a valid Surat Persetujuan Berlayar (SPB), or sailing permit, issued by the Kantor Kesyahbandaran dan Otoritas Pelabuhan (KSOP) Labuan Bajo for each voyage. This confirms the vessel is seaworthy and the crew is certified.
- Onboard Safety Equipment: We physically audit our partner vessels to ensure they are equipped with modern safety equipment that exceeds local requirements, including GPS navigation, AIS transponders, VHF and satellite phones, SOLAS-grade life rafts, sufficient life jackets, and fire suppression systems.
- Crew Competency: All boat captains and key crew members hold relevant Indonesian maritime certifications (e.g., Ahli Nautika Tingkat, or ANKAPIN) and are experienced in navigating the specific conditions of the Komodo archipelago.
Land & Air Transportation
- Vehicle Fleet Standards: Our land transport partners must provide proof of regular vehicle maintenance, valid roadworthiness certificates (KIR), and comprehensive commercial insurance. All vehicles used for our groups are equipped with GPS tracking.
- Driver Vetting: All drivers hold the appropriate professional driver’s license (SIM) and undergo our internal training on defensive driving and customer service.
- Aviation Compliance: We work exclusively with IATA-accredited travel agents and directly with airlines like Garuda Indonesia to ensure all ticketing and group travel arrangements are fully compliant. For private charters, we manage all necessary permits and clearances with the Direktorat Jenderal Perhubungan Udara (DGCA) and AirNav Indonesia.
Emergency Preparedness & Response
We plan for the unexpected to ensure we can respond effectively to any situation.
- Comprehensive Emergency Response Plan (ERP): We maintain a detailed ERP that covers protocols for medical emergencies, marine incidents, lost guests, and natural disasters (e.g., earthquakes, tsunamis). This plan is reviewed and updated annually.
- Medical Support Network: All our lead guides are certified in Advanced First Aid and CPR. We maintain a 24/7 on-call system and have established direct communication lines with the primary medical facility in the region, Siloam Hospitals Labuan Bajo, for emergency consultations and response. We also have partnerships with medical evacuation providers for critical situations.
- Communication Redundancy: In an area with variable cellular coverage, we ensure our teams are always connected. Our lead guides and vessels are equipped with satellite phones and GPS messengers (e.g., Garmin inReach) in addition to standard VHF radios and mobile phones.
Quality Assurance
- ISO 9001:2015 Principles: Our internal processes for planning, execution, and client feedback are structured around the principles of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System to ensure consistency, efficiency, and continuous improvement in all our MICE services.

Unwavering Operational Safety Protocols
Imagine the sun-drenched deck of a luxurious phinisi, gliding through the cerulean waters of Komodo National Park, the promise of adventure palpable in the salty air. This unparalleled experience, synonymous with Golomori MICE, is meticulously underpinned by an unyielding commitment to your safety and well-being. Our proactive approach extends far beyond mere legal requirements, embedding a culture of vigilance into every aspect of our operations, from the moment you inquire until your safe departure.
For Golomori MICE, operational safety begins with our meticulously maintained fleet. Each of our luxury phinisis and speedboats undergoes a stringent, multi-point inspection process daily before any departure. This includes verifying engine performance, navigation systems, safety equipment such as life rafts and jackets, communication devices, and structural integrity. Over 50 critical points on our luxury phinisis and speedboats are inspected daily before departure. Our marine engineers adhere to a rigorous scheduled maintenance program, often exceeding national maritime safety standards, ensuring that every vessel is not just compliant, but optimally prepared for the unique conditions of the Flores Sea. Furthermore, all land transfers utilize modern, well-serviced vehicles driven by professional, defensive-driving certified chauffeurs, ensuring secure transit throughout your itinerary.
Beyond hardware, our operational protocols encompass all MICE activities. Whether it’s a corporate teambuilding dive in the vibrant reefs surrounding Rinca Island or an executive retreat exploring the dramatic landscapes of Padar, detailed risk assessments are conducted for every activity. Our experienced activity coordinators ensure appropriate supervision, provide comprehensive briefings, and deploy necessary safety equipment. We continuously review and update these protocols, incorporating feedback and the latest industry best practices to guarantee a seamless and secure experience for every participant.
Comprehensive Emergency Preparedness and Swift Response
While prevention is paramount, the ability to respond effectively in unforeseen circumstances is the true hallmark of a responsible MICE operator. Golomori MICE maintains a robust, multi-tiered emergency preparedness and response system designed to address any situation with speed and precision. Our dedicated 24/7 operations center acts as the central hub for all communications and coordination, ensuring immediate action can be taken irrespective of time or location.
Our emergency plans are not theoretical exercises; they are regularly rehearsed and refined. We have established clear protocols for medical emergencies, natural disasters, and logistical disruptions. This includes a comprehensive medical evacuation plan, leveraging our network of trusted local partners and access to air ambulance services for critical cases. Our operational base in Labuan Bajo maintains direct, expedited communication with Siloam Hospital Labuan Bajo, located just 15 minutes from the main harbor, ensuring rapid access to advanced medical care should it be required. Furthermore, every Golomori MICE vessel is equipped with advanced satellite communication systems, enabling constant connectivity even in remote areas of the archipelago, crucial for swift coordination with emergency services and our onshore support team.
Crucially, our crisis management team, comprising senior operational leaders, is always on standby. This team is trained to make rapid, informed decisions, manage communications with clients and their organizations, and coordinate with local authorities, including the Indonesian National Search and Rescue Agency (BASARNAS). Our approach is holistic, covering everything from minor incidents to major emergencies, ensuring peace of mind for our corporate clients even in the face of the unexpected.
